About me
Haruka is an illustrator and storyteller inspired by history and travel. Old maps, railway trucks, folktales, and shabby bric-a-brac as well as historical museum collections are all important sources for building her world. In her daily life, she observes people’s peculiarities, their desires and obsessions to create her characters. Her imagination connects these fragments of real life and historical elements, and then creates stories. She tells these stories in book format or as sets of prints, and also applies them to everyday goods like tableware and toys to let her world reach out to us.
